The inside with inscription on the bottom. These characters are shown on a shangyou 商卣 discovered in a Wei tombe in 1978. See the lower left marks in the rubbing. Here the second character is a combination of two. In the You they are shown as two characters..

This is a kind of kettle with low base and domed lid. The handle stretches across the top to lugs on two sides. Although clearly used for beer, probably a particular kind of spiced beer.
